Dr. Shahbaz Farnad, MD

Dr. Shahbaz Farnad, M.D. is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist. He is a graduate of UCLA, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies. He earned his Medical Degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr Farnad completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL and went on to complete his training as a Fellow in Interventional Pain Management at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He was Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and subsequently earned his American Board of Anesthesiology subspecialty certification in Pain Medicine.

Upon completing his medical training, Dr. Farnad served as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center and helped oversee the Pain Management Fellowship program at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center under the directorship of Dr Lawrence J. Epstein until 2018. Then, Dr Farnad returned to his hometown of Los Angeles to establish Miracle Mile Medical Group, Apollo Anesthesia Associates, and integrative Surgical Associates Group Ambulatory Surgery Center.

By using an integrated, interventional, and all-encompassing approach to chronic pain management, Dr Farnad has successfully overseen the care of many patients wishing to taper off high doses of controlled and habit forming medications and helped them to regain their quality of life and lead healthier, more rewarding lifestyles.
